Our goal is to produce career missionaries and/or create greater partnerships between local churches in the USA and foreign missionaries.

G.A.P. Begins Third Year

Young people from all across the United States traveled to First Baptist Church of Woodstock in Woodstock, Georgia, on Sunday to be commissioned by Dr. Johnny Hunt before moving to Costa Rica for ten months.

The twenty-five students will attend SCORE International’s G.A.P. program to take Spanish and Bible classes while working in missions.

Jessica Hobbs, a recent college graduate from Georgia says, “I expect to grow closer to God, become fluent in Spanish, and see if full-time missions is what God has for me.”

The students attended the Sunday evening service at FBC and stood before the church as Dr. Hunt prayed for their protection and encouraged them to use this opportunity to further God’s kingdom. Afterwards the students and their families enjoyed pizza during their first orientation meeting with directors Jeff Hackett, Jose Prado, and Johnny Condrey.

“God has hand picked each one of you to be a part of this program,” said U.S. director Jeff Hackett. “Our goal is for you to learn how to be on mission with God wherever He leads you in the future.”

After attending cultural adaptation classes on Monday, the third year G.A.P. students traveled to Costa Rica early Tuesday morning to conclude their week long orientation and begin classes in the capital, San Jose.
