Resurrection Life - Thursday
We’re Here! And we’re having a great time. Our travel here was great, no problems. Flights were on time and the in flight food was pretty nice. We had a full day today. We visited 2 sugarcane villages. IT WAS HOT! But, we all had a great time. We made balloon animals for the kids (it nearly caused a riot! Thank goodness for this woman that helped us gringos get the kids in a line and give ONLY the little kids the balloons), we did face painting, painted the girls’ nails (all of our nail polish disappeared immediately,- not sure how that happened - but it’s ok) played a few friendly games of baseball (we even won a couple) and preached the Gospel. Everyone raised their hands for Pastor Ken’s salvation message. God is moving here in the Dominican.
Jeff Hackett arrived today and we were glad to see him. He is a huge help and encouragement to our team. “We are once again, at the mercy of Jeff Hackett.” Mike Hereth has been a great asset to the team. His Spanish is most handy! Thanks Mike! Also Josh (SCORE Intern) has been a great help to us! The hotel is beautiful and the food is great. Rice is a main dish here! They have a cooler here where we can buy pop, candy and some ice cream. It’s a blessing to have that!
Thank you for all your prayers!!! We are all well! We had our devotions on the beach tonight (what a beautiful moon!) and Craig Bongiovanni shared from his heart how we are all one big family in Christ. We Americans and the Dominicans may have some cultural differences, and some language barriers but we are all one family under God.
Pastor Dan - WE MISS YOU DEARLY!!! We are praying for you and looking forward to seeing you soon! Jessica - we are praying for you too! We trust you are doing well!!!
