Kids Across America Higher Ground - Thursday
Today we went to another village, played in the fields with the kids and did pretty much the same things as the other days. The HG kids are doing great at hanging in there and continuing to serve, dispite the extreme heat, repetition and tiredness that is catching up on everyone. The village seemed to be receptive and, as always, the kids didn’t want to let our HG kids leave.
In the afternoon we visited our 1st orphanage. There were probably 25 to 30 kids there from baby age and up. Most of these kids are products of prostitutes who don’t want to, or can’t, raise them. A few of the kids are crippled due to their parents being brother and sister to each other, so that was sad to see. The orphanage was pretty clean, the kids had large rooms, they were all very loving and seemed to already know about Jesus. It was a well run and well taken care of orphanage. They were like one big happy family. They even did their own little program for us by singing a couple songs and acting them out. Then, they made the HG students and counselors join them and they did the whole song again. It was really cute!! God is certainly doing a great work here in Santo Domingo and we are pleased to only play a very small part of it!!
