Northside Baptist Church (GA) - Saturday

The trip is unfortunately coming to an end, and we are sad to announce that this will be our final blog… :( Currently everyone is frantically running around trying to get everything packed before our 11pm curfew. It’s crazy around here. Other than all that madness, we are going to tell you about our day in a “normal” blog way for a change. (Partly because we don’t have time to be creative at the moment). So here it goes: We started out our day with some street style evangelism. And by that I mean we went door to door talking to people about Jesus and inviting them to a local church to watch all of our skits and hear a few testimonies. It was good times. We had a ton of fun with those kids at church. They are so adorable and fun to attempt to speak Spanish too.

Afterwards, we headed out for lunch at none other than the wonderful Burger King. We all ordered in Spanish. Some of us made fools of ourselves but we aren’t going to name any names. Once that was done with and our tummies were filled, we went to the “Straw Market” which pretty much sold all of the same stuff at every store, but it was still fun to bargain with everyone. We had an especially good time bargaining with the merchants, getting things that were originally priced at $100 down to $10, and then “deciding” we didn’t actually want to buy it in the first place. (it was fun stuff, potentially a new hobby). We left the market, came back to the SCORE complex and freshened up for a nice dinner together at Coral to reflect over the week. There was a pretty spectacular buffet there and I’m pretty sure there were no rice and beans…which was a good change. It has been an amazing day and an even more amazing week. Our eyes have been opened up to so much since arriving here and everyone is going to go back home with so many stories to tell. Everyone is sad to leave but at the same time excited to get back and see family and friends.

Tomorrow morning we are leaving by 7:30 to attend a local church service of one of the missionaries we have been working with this past week. Straight after that we will be going to the Santo Domingo Airport to fly back home. Everyone pray for a safe trip for us and we will be seeing ya’ll soon!
Te amos!
