Christian Central Academy - Friday
Today was another great day for us here. We went to Catalina Island for the day and enjoyed the beach and the sun. We first took a double-decker boat about 15 minutes out to sea and then were able to jump off the boat and snorkel in the Caribbean Ocean around the boat. Jeff started the group out by being the first to jump from the top of the boat as soon as we stopped.
After that, we got back on the boat and headed in toward Catalina Island. We spread out in the sun (and shade, for some of us) and enjoyed the crystal clear water. We had chicken fights, enjoyed some cliff jumping and played boys vs. girls keep away with the soccer ball we brought (Mrs. Wade and I also played). We had a HUGE buffet for lunch with delicious fruit, chicken, steak, salads and just all the food we could eat. After that we enjoyed the water some more and took the boat back to the docks. The ride back seemed longer and many of the seniors enjoyed riding on the front of the boat and being sprayed by the waves.
It was a fun, relaxing day and a chance to just spend some time with each other. We all got quite a bit of sun, but not too much. We are now back at SCORE and we are going to eat dinner here, have devotions and get ready for another day of ministry tomorrow.
Please keep us in prayer. Tomorrow we are going to another orphanage and then back to a village we went to on Thursday afternoon. Everyone is excited and eagerly anticipating tomorrow. God is good and He is doing a great work here, and I feel honored and privileged to have been given the opportunity to spend this week with an amazing group of students that I wish I had been able to get to know more before our time here. It is a privilege to serve beside them and see how God is using each one of us.
