Cedarville Univ Womens Soccer - Monday
Hello to all! Today was a long, busy day, but very worth it. We had
our first clinic , and about 60 kids showed up ranging in age from 5 to
16. In the morning session we did stations to teach them passing,
dribbling, shooting, and goalkeeping. We thought the language barrier
was going to be a big problem in conveying what we wanted to say, but we
ended up having 6 translators come with us, which helped tremendously.
After lunch, we shared a testimony, sang some songs, and did a skit
called Billy the Boot (soccer shoe). In the afternoon, we played games
with them and just had fun. Overall, the day was very successful and
the Gospel was shared clearly with them. Quite a few of the kids prayed
“the prayer,” but only God knows their heart. The weather was wonderful
as well. It wasn’t too hot most of the time and it only rained (poured)
at lunchtime.
When we came back from the clinic, we had some time to get in the pool
and relax for the afternoon. After dinner, we had devotions in which
one of the translators shared her testimony with us. What a neat story
to hear how God worked in her life to bring her to Him.
Pray for our day tomorrow. We are going to visit the two girls we are
supporting through Compassion International. We also have our first
match against a college team, which we hear is really good. What a way
to come back to soccer after a few weeks off!
