Dominican Baseball Clinics a HUGE Success!
A crowd of 160 men from the USA were in the Dominican Republic with SCORE International November 12-16. The group was made up of Major League Baseball players like Mariano Rivera and Andy Phillips of the NY Yankees, college and high school baseball coaches, pastors, businessmen, and others.
With the help of these men, SCORE held baseball clinics in the Dominican over a 4 day period and shared the Gospel with over 8,000 Dominicans. Over 1,000 Dominicans accepted Christ!
Along with the baseball clinics, the group of men from the USA also helped in disaster relief efforts for the Dominican people. Several tons of food were given away as well as over $38,000 in cash donations that had been given through SCORE.
Ron Bishop, President of SCORE International, was able to deliver checks to national pastors, missionaries, local churches, and orphanages to help in disaster relief.
This week was more than just baseball clinics, though. Each morning began with a devotion from Wendell Kempton and each evening ended with a challenge from ken Witten.
The week in the DR is as much a revival and men’s retreat as it is a baseball clinic. Many men on the trip came away refreshed and ready to do more for the Lord. If you would like to join us in 2008 for this amazing trip, make your plans now!!
